Assets
We view the "Wages by Education" dataset as one of the most essential assets in our project, "Analyzing Economic Inequality Through Feminism, Critical Race Theory, and Marxism," to analyze intersections of education, gender, race, and economic disparity. We selected this dataset intending to create demographic and comprehensive economic indicators to enable dissecting wage inequalities from a feminist theory perspective, a critical race theory perspective, and under Marxist analysis. Users can interact with this data through our detailed visualizations, such as comparative graphs and thematic maps, highlighting disparities and patterns that might otherwise remain unseen.
Services
Our website hosts a collection of services that leverage robust backend technologies, including Python scripts that run within Jupyter Notebooks, which empower real-time data analysis and user-driven interactivity of updating content. These tools are used from the website, where a user can perform their own studies, play with the data, and build customized visualizations interactively. We have integrated several external APIs to extend the functionality and enrich the project with data, providing updated and supplemental data streams that further enhance the depth of analysis available to our users.
Interface
Our website, crafted with Wix’s powerful design tools, adapts seamlessly to any device, ensuring an optimal viewing experience whether you’re on a desktop or a smartphone. This adaptability is thanks to the responsive design that automatically adjusts layouts based on the screen size. Navigating through our site is straightforward and intuitive, made possible by user-friendly templates that Wix offers. These templates allow us to design a clear and simple navigation structure, making it easy for visitors to find what they need without any hassle.
