Our Team

We are a group of committed student researchers from the University of California, Berkeley, driven by a shared passion for investigating and addressing the intricate intersections of gender, race, and class dynamics that contribute to economic disparities. Together, we have collaboratively developed this digital humanities project, which includes tasks such as gathering data, annotating bibliographies, crafting narratives, creating visualizations, and building a comprehensive website.

We would like to extend our gratitude to our professor Dr. Scott Caddy, for an invaluable advice and guidance throughout our project. Additionally, we appreciate the DigHum100 course staff for their comprehensive instruction and for providing us with the materials and theories essential to the development of this project.

We chose the "Wages by Education" dataset for its relevance to our analysis of economic inequality through feminist theory, critical race theory, and Marxism. We selected Python and integration with Jupyter Notebooks, providing an interactive environment for real-time data analysis and user-driven content updates. We prioritized creating comprehensive visualizations such as comparative graphs to highlight disparities effectively. Our website was built using Wix for its responsive design and user-friendly navigation, ensuring accessibility and an optimal viewing experience across all devices.
